Decimal Point Analytics launches India’s first domain-specific GenAI model, Bindu FRS 1.0, targeting financial statement standardisation and accuracy, signalling a shift towards specialised AI solutions in enterprise software.
Indian companies are moving past AI trials and into live deployment, and that shift is shaping product strategy in enterprise software. EY India’s C-suite GenAI Survey 2025 found that 91% of enterprise leaders now see speed of deployment as the key factor in buy-or-build decisions, while almost half of Indian organisations already have several GenAI use cases running in production. Against that backdrop, Mumbai-based Decimal Point Analytics has unveiled what it calls India’s first purpose-built GenAI model for financial statements.
The model, Bindu FRS 1.0, is designed for a narrow task: turning messy corporate disclosures into standardised, machine-readable data. That may sound modest, but for data vendors, rating firms and research providers processing thousands of annual reports, interim filings and prospectuses every year, the work is tedious, error-prone and expensive. General-purpose language models can struggle when filings introduce unusual line items or non-standard formatting, which means small mistakes can quickly multiply into compliance risk and manual rework.
Decimal Point Analytics says the system was built and trained in-house and is intended to improve continuously through analyst corrections. In internal testing on 100 filings from UK and Canadian issuers, the company said Bindu FRS 1.0 reached 98.79% first-pass accuracy on financial statement mapping and cut first-pass errors by 77% compared with a frontier commercial large language model tested on the same task. Those figures have not been independently verified.
The company is pitching the product as part of a broader move towards vertical AI: tools built for one tightly defined domain rather than general use across many tasks. Shailesh Dhuri, the firm’s co-founder and chief executive, said the next stage of AI adoption in India would favour models with proprietary data and a narrower focus. Decimal Point Analytics says Bindu FRS 1.0 already sits within its managed data services, and that it wants to extend the same approach to other specialist financial workflows. Whether that strategy holds up as disclosure formats and reporting standards change will be the real test.
