Coins.ph expands bill payment network through strategic Bayad partnership

Coins.ph has integrated with Bayad to nearly triple its available billers, enhancing real-time payments and broadening its role in everyday transactions across utilities, government, and other sectors.

Coins.ph has deepened its payments offering through a partnership with Bayad that lifts the number of billers available in the app to nearly 300, widening access across 17 categories from utilities and telecommunications to travel, banking and government services. The move gives the digital wallet a broader role in everyday transactions and reduces its dependence on third-party aggregators for bill processing, according to the company and Bayad.

Coins.ph said the direct link to Bayad’s biller network should improve speed and reliability, with eligible payments posted in real time and typically reflected within 24 hours. That matters for users trying to avoid delays that could trigger late-payment issues, particularly on recurring household and personal bills.

Amira Alawi, global marketing director at Coins.ph, said the company wanted to show how the app fits into users’ daily routines, while Dennis Gatuslao, chief commercial and marketing officer at Bayad, described the tie-up as a way to connect traditional payments with digital finance. Coins.ph said the expanded network is already available to registered users on the latest iOS and Android versions of the app.

The partnership also underscores how Coins.ph is trying to position itself as more than a crypto trading platform. The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas-regulated app already offers mobile wallet services, remittances, mobile load and bill payments, while Bayad, formerly Bayad Center, handles payment collection across utilities, banking, insurance, government contributions, transportation and loans. Coins.ph’s own help pages say it previously supported more than 90 billers, suggesting the Bayad integration marks a significant expansion of its payments coverage.
