Centricity raises INR 280 crore to disrupt India’s wealth management scene with technological push

Centricity, the Gurugram-based wealth management firm, secures INR 280 crore in a Series A funding round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund. The investment aims to accelerate technological innovation, expand distribution channels, and cater to India’s shifting savings habits amidst rapid growth in private wealth and non-resident Indian client segments.

Centricity said on August 13 that it has raised INR 280 crore in a Series A round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund, with backing from existing investors including Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments, Stride Venture and Innoven Capital. The Gurugram-based wealth management firm said the new money will be used to strengthen its technology, widen its B2B2C distribution platform and accelerate its private wealth and non-resident Indian client businesses.

The company is betting on a broad shift in India’s savings habits, as more households move from traditional deposits towards market-linked investments and demand grows for more sophisticated advice. Centricity says its model is designed to fill gaps in a fragmented industry, where many independent distributors still lack integrated technology, institutional-grade products and back-office support.

Founded in 2022 by former private bankers with experience at firms including Citibank, Deutsche Bank, Kotak and 360 ONE WAM, Centricity operates through businesses such as One Digital, Invictus Private Wealth and Centricity Global Private Client. The firm says its open-architecture platform gives advisers access to mutual funds, insurance, bonds, portfolio management services, alternative investment funds, broking, GIFT City products and offshore solutions, while automating tasks such as portfolio consolidation, reporting and risk analysis.

Centricity says it now manages more than INR 15,000 crore in assets, works with over 20,000 partners and more than 100,000 investors, and has a network of more than 250 family offices. The company also says it is on course to exceed INR 150 crore in revenue in FY27 and has been growing at close to 200% over the past year. Business Standard reported earlier this year that Centricity planned to double assets under management to INR 20,000 crore by March 2026, supported by the hiring of 30 senior private bankers and a push into India’s top 70 cities. The Economic Times said the firm is also building out its “INVICTUS” platform for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and single-family offices.
