Bengaluru-based activewear brand TechnoSport commits Rs130 crore to expand its Erode facility, boosting fabric output and Job creation while accelerating its retail footprint across India.
TechnoSport has announced a Rs130 crore investment to expand its manufacturing base in Erode, Tamil Nadu, as the Bengaluru-based activewear maker steps up capacity and broadens its national footprint. According to Apparel Resources, the company signed a memorandum of understanding with the Tamil Nadu government at the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026, with the second phase of expansion expected to lift fabric output from 25 tonnes a day to 40 tonnes a day by the end of FY27.
The company says the project should generate about 500 jobs in the state. TechnoSport’s manufacturing set-up is centred on a vertically integrated model that covers fabric development, production and quality checks, allowing it to control much of the value chain. The Times of India reported that the Erode unit, in Perundurai, sits close to the Tiruppur textile cluster and benefits from support linked to the Centre’s production-linked incentive scheme for textiles.
TechnoSport has also been widening its retail reach. Indian Retailer and Retail4Growth reported that the brand recently opened new exclusive brand outlets in Gurugram and Erode, taking its total to 26 stores and moving it towards a target of 50 by the end of the financial year. Beyond those outlets, the company says it now reaches consumers through more than 16,000 retail touchpoints across more than 20 states, supported by over 40 super stockists.
The expansion comes as TechnoSport pushes towards stronger sales growth. The company says it sells more than 25 million units a year and reported revenue of about Rs600 crore in FY26, with a goal of Rs1,000 crore in FY27. Sunil Jhunjhunwala, co-founder and managing director, said: “Tamil Nadu has been an important part of TechnoSport’s manufacturing journey. As we grow, we believe scale should create value beyond products by generating employment, strengthening manufacturing capabilities and contributing to the wider ecosystem around us. This Rs 130 crore (US $13.59 million) investment in Erode represents another important step in that journey.”
