Tamil Nadu attracts record-breaking investments from global manufacturing giants at Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026

Leading international companies like Daimler, Saint-Gobain, YKK, and Super Micro announce substantial investments in Tamil Nadu, signalling a new phase of industrial growth and innovation in the state.

Several global manufacturing companies have announced new investments in Tamil Nadu, adding fresh momentum to the state’s push to strengthen its industrial base. The commitments were unveiled at the Vetri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave 2026 and point to continued confidence in the state’s role as a manufacturing hub, according to the Deccan Chronicle.

Daimler India Commercial Vehicles will invest Rs. 4,000 crore to expand its 400-acre facility at Oragadam, with the work covering commercial vehicle design, research and development and production. The company’s Oragadam site, which has operated since 2012, is a major part of Daimler Truck’s India business and already serves domestic and overseas markets, according to company information.

Saint-Gobain has pledged Rs. 2,000 crore for a new greenfield plant at Krishnagiri and for expansion at its existing operations in Kanchipuram. YKK, the Japanese fastening products maker, plans to put Rs. 1,651 crore into Tiruvallur, a move the Deccan Chronicle said is expected to create about 4,316 jobs. Singapore-based Ascendas Firstspace will develop a Rs. 1,000 crore industrial park in Tiruvallur, which the report described as its largest presence in India.

Super Micro Computer, based in the US, will also set up server assembly operations in Chennai. Taken together, the projects reinforce Tamil Nadu’s established strengths in automobiles, engineering and electronics while also widening its reach into advanced manufacturing and digital infrastructure, according to the report.
