Chief Minister Mohan Yadav highlights Madhya Pradesh’s growing textile sector, with Arvind Ltd planning a ₹1,200 crore expansion at the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, promising new jobs and sustainable industrial growth.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav used a visit to Ahmedabad on Wednesday to deepen ties with Arvind Ltd and press Madhya Pradesh’s case as an investment destination, saying the textile group is expanding its footprint in the state with units planned at multiple locations. According to the company’s discussions with the state government, the work is aligned with an ambition to begin production at the PM MITRA Park in Dhar district next year, a move officials say could create fresh jobs for young people in the state.
Yadav said Arvind Group is setting up facilities at three sites: Barlai near Dewas, the PM MITRA Park in Dhar and Betma in Indore. He said the group’s wider expansion across other areas would strengthen industrial activity in Madhya Pradesh and increase employment opportunities, especially as the state tries to build a larger textile and apparel base.
At the centre of the talks was Arvind Ltd’s proposed investment of about ₹1,200 crore in the Dhar PM MITRA Park. The company has been allotted 105 acres there, and the government said it is also working with the group on faster clearances and the pace of project execution. The broader textile push in Madhya Pradesh is already drawing significant interest: Business Standard reported that 15 companies have proposed investments of ₹12,508 crore in the sector, with more than 18,000 jobs expected, while other reports have said Dhar’s PM MITRA Park has emerged as the most committed among the seven national textile parks in terms of investment and employment potential.
The discussions also covered industrial water reuse, with officials considering zero liquid discharge systems, which recycle wastewater so that very little or none is released into the environment. The state is also exploring links between industrial parks and nearby municipal sewage treatment plants to build a circular water model. Another topic was the possible use of mission-critical communications at Simhastha 2028, including wireless systems for police, emergency services and event management. Yadav also invited Kulin Lalbhai to invest further in Madhya Pradesh and to attend the Global Investors Summit in 2027. Arvind, founded in 1931 and based in Ahmedabad, is one of India’s largest textile groups, employing more than 60,000 people and sourcing cotton from over 100,000 farmers.
