Karnataka accelerates industrial growth with 83 new projects, creating 30,000 jobs outside Bengaluru

Karnataka has approved 83 new industrial projects worth over ₹6,250 crore, with a focus on spreading growth beyond Bengaluru and generating over 30,000 jobs across the state, signalling a significant boost to its industrial ambitions.

Karnataka has cleared 83 industrial projects worth ₹6,252.86 crore, with officials saying the investment pipeline is expected to generate 30,054 jobs across the state. The approvals were granted on Wednesday by the State Level Single Window Clearance Committee, which is chaired by Large and Medium Industries Minister M B Patil.

According to a statement from Patil’s office, 69 of the projects will be located outside Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts, a move that fits the state government’s “Beyond Bengaluru” push to spread industrial growth more evenly. Of the total, 24 projects with investments of more than ₹50 crore each account for ₹4,702.99 crore and are projected to create 25,170 jobs. Another 57 projects in the ₹15 crore to ₹50 crore bracket represent ₹1,291.87 crore and are expected to add 4,884 jobs, while two smaller projects together account for ₹258 crore.

The committee approved a mix of ventures spanning integrated industrial parks, aerospace and defence manufacturing, food processing, IT services and renewable energy. Among the largest is Jaswin Ventures Private Limited’s proposed integrated industrial park and mixed-use township in Doddaballapura taluk in Bengaluru Rural district, a ₹475 crore project that the state says could generate 12,000 jobs. Jampana Construction Private Limited will also develop an integrated industrial park in the same taluk, including warehousing, logistics, residential and commercial space, with an investment of ₹465 crore and an estimated 2,500 jobs.

The fresh approvals come as Karnataka continues to position itself as one of India’s main industrial destinations. Business Standard reported that the state cleared 55 projects in March 2023 worth ₹3,451.24 crore, while government-backed investment promotion material says Karnataka’s industrial policy for 2025-30 aims to attract ₹7.5 lakh crore in investment and create 20 lakh jobs by the end of the decade. The state’s economic survey also says industrial activity contributed ₹5,29,575 crore to gross state domestic product in 2024-25, underscoring the sector’s growing weight in the economy.
