Investcorp invests Rs 500 crore in India’s evolving contract logistics sector, aims to expand nationwide platform

Investcorp acquires the contract logistics arm of 20Cube 3PL Solutions for Rs 500 crore and plans to inject up to Rs 750 crore more, signalling strong investor confidence amid sector growth driven by e-commerce and supply chain modernisation.

Investcorp has bought the contract logistics arm of 20Cube 3PL Solutions for Rs 500 crore, in a move that underscores continued investor appetite for India’s fast-growing logistics market. The Bahrain-based alternative investment firm said it also intends to commit an additional Rs 500 crore to Rs 750 crore, alongside the founders, to buy related businesses and build a nationwide contract logistics platform.

The business will remain under the leadership of Anand Seetharaman and Ranjan Kedia. According to the announcement, the transaction involves a carve-out of the India contract logistics unit from Singapore-based 20Cube Logistics, which will continue to focus on international freight forwarding. The Indian operation already runs more than 7 million square feet of warehousing space and plans to expand that to more than 20 million square feet within four to five years.

Contract logistics refers to the outsourcing of warehousing, transport, inventory management and order fulfilment to specialist operators. The model is becoming more technology-driven as companies seek better visibility over goods, tighter stock control and faster delivery. The deal lands at a time when manufacturing growth, supply chain modernisation and rising demand for organised storage are reshaping the sector, while e-commerce and modern retail are adding further momentum.

Investcorp said the investment builds on its broader India logistics strategy. The firm already has exposure to the sector through NDR Warehousing and Miebach Consulting, and it has previously backed other logistics-focused businesses in the country, including Xpressbees. Gaurav Sharma, head of India investment business at Investcorp, said the firm sees strong long-term prospects in contract logistics, while partner Varun Laul said 20Cube stands out through its on-demand, multi-client warehousing model and integrated transport services. Seetharaman said the company is now positioned to deepen its technology capabilities and widen its national network.
