Inox Clean Energy announces a ₹1,500 crore investment from Motilal Oswal Group, boosting its green energy projects and target capacity growth to over 6 GW by FY27 amidst increased investor backing.
Inox Clean Energy said on Thursday that Motilal Oswal Group has committed ₹1,500 crore to the company, with ₹1,000 crore already completed. The money has been raised through compulsorily convertible debentures and will be used to support expansion, especially acquisition-led growth.
The latest backing comes after Inox Clean secured ₹700 crore from the Adar Poonawalla Family Office, adding to support from investors including CalPERS, RJ Corp, Hero Group, Authum Investments, Akash Bhansali and other family offices and high-net-worth individuals. The company has been drawing capital as it scales an integrated renewable energy platform under the INOXGFL Group.
Devansh Jain, executive director of INOXGFL Group, said the investment from Motilal Oswal was a strong endorsement of the company’s business model, execution and long-term plans. Rakshat Kapoor, head of private credit at MO Alternates, said the firm looked forward to supporting Inox Clean’s effort to build a globally leading integrated renewable energy platform.
Inox Clean said its renewable independent power producer portfolio in India stood at 3 GW at the end of June 2026 and is expected to rise to more than 6 GW of operational capacity by the end of FY27. Motilal Oswal Alternates, the alternative investment arm of Motilal Oswal Financial Services, also said in June that its maiden private credit fund had reached a second close at ₹2,438 crore, with a final close expected soon.
