Delhi NCR has cemented its position as India’s top ecommerce hub, raising $517 million in 2024 and outpacing Bengaluru since 2021, amid a burgeoning market projected to reach up to $496.4 billion by 2030.
Delhi NCR has emerged as India’s most heavily financed ecommerce hub, with a concentration of consumer brands that now spans the full spectrum from early-stage digital labels to publicly listed groups. Inc42 Datalabs says startups in the region raised $517 million across 64 deals in 2024, extending a run in which Delhi NCR has out-funded Bengaluru in ecommerce every year since 2021.
That strength sits against a large and still-expanding market. Inc42 estimates India’s ecommerce sector could reach $400 billion by 2030, up from about $138 billion in 2024, while other industry forecasts point to an even broader range of outcomes. Grand View Research projects India’s B2C ecommerce market at $496.4 billion by 2030, IBEF sees the wider market rising to $345 billion, and a BCG report cited by LiveMint puts the figure at as much as $300 billion by 2030. Deloitte and Google, meanwhile, have projected a $250 billion market by the end of the decade.
Within that growth story, direct-to-consumer brands remain central. Inc42 says Delhi NCR-based consumer brands have raised about $3.5 billion across 434 deals from 2015 to early 2026, making the region India’s leading D2C hub ahead of Bengaluru and Mumbai. Recent funding has continued to flow into both newer brands and platform-style roll-ups, with examples including Bombay Shaving Company, Wingreens Farms and Moxie Beauty.
The depth of the region’s ecosystem is also visible in its mix of private and public companies. Delhi NCR is home to Delhivery, PB Fintech and Honasa Consumer, alongside venture-backed names such as Bira 91, GlobalBees, the Good Glamm Group and Chaayos. Inc42 notes that the region accounted for 43% of all listed Indian startups and that New Delhi’s startup policy is aiming to support 15,000 startups by 2030.
More broadly, ecommerce has become one of India’s most active startup sectors, drawing more than $35 billion across 1,900-plus deals since 2014. Bain and Flipkart have said India already has the world’s second-largest e-retail shopper base, with more than 270 million online shoppers in 2024, while newer forecasts suggest quick commerce, AI-led product discovery and broader MSME adoption will keep reshaping how the market grows over the rest of the decade.
