Andhra Pradesh pitches ₹4,256 crore in projects ahead of Kakinada CII summit

Proposals spanning manufacturing and allied sectors could create 14,261 jobs, with Kakinada set to attract the largest share of investment.

Industrialists are set to pitch investment proposals worth ₹4,256.61 crore in Andhra Pradesh, with the projects expected to support 14,261 jobs, as the state prepares for a Confederation of Indian Industry summit in Kakinada. The proposals, spread across several districts and sectors, underline how the coastal city is being positioned as a focal point for manufacturing and allied industries.

Kakinada is expected to draw the largest share of the interest, with seven industrial units proposing ₹2,857.63 crore of investment and the creation of 6,799 jobs. East Godavari district is projected to receive three projects valued at ₹477.98 crore, which could add 4,515 jobs. In Srikakulam, three units involving ₹201 crore are expected to generate 1,450 jobs, while Indian Phosphate has proposed a ₹690 crore project in Prakasam district that would employ 500 people. Vishwasa Apparels is also planning a ₹30 crore unit in Chittoor, with an estimated 1,000 jobs.

According to the Deccan Chronicle report, 31 micro, small and medium enterprises will also take part in the summit, bringing proposals worth ₹104.95 crore and promising 1,064 jobs. That broad participation suggests the event is not only aimed at securing large anchor projects but also at encouraging smaller firms that can deepen local supply chains and create more widely distributed employment.

The summit comes as Andhra Pradesh is stepping up its industrial pitch more broadly. The New Indian Express reported that the CII regional conference in Kakinada is scheduled for October 12, 2026, with an exhibition for MSMEs and a special Andhra Pradesh pavilion. Separately, the same newspaper reported that Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu recently told business leaders the state had attracted investment commitments worth ₹22 lakh crore over the past 28 months, while the state investment promotion board has also approved projects worth ₹22,177.84 crore in sectors ranging from energy and IT to food processing and tourism, according to Asianet Newsable. Andhra Pradesh is also targeting more than ₹50,000 crore of investment at the Orvakal Industrial Hub in Kurnool district, part of a wider effort to turn Rayalaseema into a manufacturing centre, The Times of India reported.
