Adiabatic Technologies secures seed funding to scale domestic battery manufacturing

Pune-based Adiabatic Technologies raises INR 8.3 crore in seed round led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures, aiming to expand its manufacturing capacity and accelerate innovation in India’s industrial battery market.

Adiabatic Technologies has raised INR 8.3 crore in seed funding in a round co-led by Malpani Ventures and Avinya Ventures, with participation from Appreciate Capital, DeVC, Operators Studio and UPES Incubator. The Pune-based company makes custom lithium-ion battery packs, smart chargers and proprietary battery-management systems for demanding industrial uses.

Founded in 2022 by Darshan Meher, Adiabatic designs and builds its systems in-house, from cell selection and pack architecture to thermal management and battery-management software, according to the company. It operates from a 6,000-square-foot research and assembly facility in Nagapur MIDC, Ahmednagar, and says it has already deployed more than 20,000 battery systems across more than 25 OEMs.

The new capital is meant to help Adiabatic expand manufacturing capacity to 100 MWh a year while speeding product development and growing its engineering team. The company’s customer base spans robotics, defense, drones, electric mobility, marine equipment, agricultural machinery and industrial energy storage, putting it in a broader Indian push to build domestic battery expertise as electric vehicle makers and other manufacturers look for better control over performance, safety and durability.
