Gokaldas Exports reports robust start to 2027 with 21% revenue growth amid sector headwinds

Gokaldas Exports begins the 2027 fiscal year with a 7% rise in net profit and a 21% increase in total income, buoyed by strong performance in India and Africa despite sector challenges.

Gokaldas Exports opened the 2027 financial year with a firmer set of quarterly numbers, as net profit rose 7% year on year to ₹44 crore and total income climbed 21% to ₹1,180 crore. According to LiveMint, the improvement came despite a tougher backdrop for Indian apparel exporters, which have been dealing with weaker industry demand and cost pressure.

The company’s growth was broad-based across its two main geographies. Revenue from India increased 16%, helped by stronger order execution and better pricing, while the Africa business jumped 45%. Management linked the African performance to higher output after the renewal of the African Growth and Opportunity Act, which has improved the company’s competitive position in that market.

The latest quarter also marks a rebound from a weaker finish to the previous financial year. Business Standard reported that in the March quarter of 2026, Gokaldas Exports’ consolidated net profit fell 31.97% to ₹35.96 crore even as sales rose 5.27% to ₹1,068.85 crore. For the full year, profit dropped 36.84% while sales edged up 3.19%, underscoring how uneven the recovery has been.

Investors, however, appeared cautious on August 12, when the shares closed at ₹762. That reaction suggests the market is weighing the stronger revenue growth against margin concerns and wider sector headwinds. Earlier commentary from the company and broker research has pointed to ongoing tariff-related pressure, rising wage and raw material costs, and a need for continued capital spending, although management has also indicated that order visibility remains healthy and that margin pressure could ease if trade conditions improve.
