Ankiti Bose’s new venture, Terra Invest, is pioneering investments in sectors like AI, healthcare, and green energy across India and the Middle East, signalling a strategic shift towards industries shaped by policy and scientific progress amid broader economic trends.
Ankiti Bose is recasting her next act around a part of the investment world that sits well beyond consumer internet bets. Terra Invest, the platform she is leading, is targeting India and the Middle East and is focusing on sectors that include artificial intelligence, healthcare, life sciences, digital finance, green energy and infrastructure, according to company material and recent reports. The shift reflects a broader view that the next wave of value creation will come from industries shaped as much by policy, regulation and scientific progress as by software alone.
Bose first built her reputation as a technology entrepreneur after co-founding Zilingo, once one of South-east Asia’s best-known start-up names. Before that, she worked at McKinsey & Company and spent time in venture capital, a career path that helped shape her move from operator to investor. Terra Invest says it is operating from offices in London, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Miami, with a footprint that extends across India and the Middle East.
The firm’s strategy appears to centre on sectors where long development cycles and regulatory complexity make capital only one part of the equation. Company and media profiles describe interests ranging from AI-led healthcare and precision medicine to renewable energy, trade finance and pre-IPO opportunities. That positioning also fits with the broader push by Gulf states, especially the UAE, to attract investment in advanced industries, digital infrastructure and clean energy.
Healthcare and wellness seem likely to be a major theme. Terra Invest has been linked with businesses in regenerative wellness, biosciences and medical aesthetics, areas that sit within a wider shift towards prevention, personalisation and longevity. As diagnostics improve and more biological data becomes available, investors are increasingly backing models that aim not just to treat illness but to identify risk earlier and support longer-term health outcomes.
Terra Invest is also presenting itself as more than a passive capital pool. Its network includes figures such as former US ambassador Kirk Wagar and private equity executive Krishan Rattan, underscoring the importance of diplomacy, regulation and cross-border deal-making in the sectors Bose is targeting. The company says it has participated in transactions worth more than $12 billion, a claim that, if accurate, suggests significant early scale for a relatively young platform.
For Bose, the move marks a clear evolution from the consumer-tech world that made her name. The underlying bet is that the most important growth markets of the next decade will be built at the intersection of technology, science, government policy and institutional capital, with India and the Middle East emerging as central nodes in that network.
