Neokred Technologies has expanded its partnership initiative, leveraging its NeoRoute platform to enable banks to increase their share of UPI and card-acquiring transactions, offering a scalable solution that simplifies merchant onboarding and transaction management across India.
Neokred Technologies has widened its bank partnership programme, aiming to help lenders capture a larger share of UPI and card-acquiring business from their existing current-account merchants while also onboarding new merchants through a white-labelled model. The Bengaluru-based company says the offer is built around NeoRoute, its payment orchestration platform for online and in-store transactions, and is intended to give banks a faster route into merchant acquiring without requiring them to build the full infrastructure themselves.
The pitch reflects a broader shift in merchant payments in India, where businesses often depend on a single gateway. When that connection slows, fails or becomes more expensive, sales can be interrupted. Neokred says NeoRoute is linked to multiple licensed payment aggregators and banks, and automatically sends each transaction through the most suitable rail based on success rates, cost and availability. According to the company, that should improve transaction success, provide clearer settlement visibility and give merchants one dashboard for UPI and cards across websites, apps and physical stores.
Tarun Nazare, director at Neokred, said banks already control the merchant relationship and current account, but often lack the technology layer needed to turn that position into meaningful acquiring volume without a lengthy build. He said the platform is designed to work behind the bank rather than in front of it, leaving the bank as the visible brand to the merchant while Neokred handles the payment plumbing. The company also says it is not trying to act as a bank or payment aggregator itself, but rather to support regulated institutions that already hold merchant trust.
For merchants with physical outlets, the programme also includes Neokred’s UNIQ range of certified payment devices, including QR tools, soundboxes and point-of-sale terminals. Among them is a display-enabled soundbox that confirms UPI and card payments both on screen and by voice, while also showing content between transactions. Neokred says that gives merchants a way to promote offers at checkout and allows brands to use the payment screen for measurable advertising at the point of purchase. The company says its broader product suite spans identity and know-your-customer APIs, consent management, collections tools and payment orchestration, and that it works with banks and other licensed institutions to deliver services under their own brand.
