PTC Industries shares surge as company launches Rs 1,800 crore QIP to fund expansion

PTC Industries’ shares rose over 7% as the aerospace and defence firm announced a Rs 1,800 crore qualified institutional placement to strengthen its balance sheet and expand operations, with investor optimism reflecting strong quarterly growth.

PTC Industries’ shares jumped on Wednesday after the aerospace and defence components maker moved to tap institutional investors for fresh capital through a qualified institutional placement, or QIP. The stock rose 7.11% to close at Rs 24,770 on the NSE, extending a rally that has already lifted it sharply this year. According to ZeeBiz, the fundraising plan comes as the company looks to strengthen its balance sheet and back expansion in its manufacturing business. Moneycontrol reported that the market value of the company stood at about Rs 34,600 crore as of October 6.

The company is seeking to raise up to Rs 1,800 crore, with the money expected to go first towards reducing debt. That would ease finance costs and improve leverage, which matters for a capital-intensive manufacturer. The issue structure differs slightly across reports: ZeeBiz said the indicative floor price was Rs 21,060 a share, while Moneycontrol reported that the board set a floor price of Rs 22,150 and indicated an issue price of Rs 21,060. Either way, the offer implies dilution of about 5.7% of pre-issue equity, according to the reports.

A portion of the proceeds is also meant for Aerolloy Technologies, PTC Industries’ subsidiary, to support working capital and machinery purchases. Moneycontrol added that the company also plans to invest in its step-down subsidiary, Trac Precision Solutions Limited. The transaction is being advised by ICICI Securities and Goldman Sachs, according to Moneycontrol and other reports.

The fundraise follows a strong first quarter of FY27. ZeeBiz reported that consolidated revenue from operations almost doubled year on year to Rs 191.80 crore in the quarter ended June 30, 2026, while profit after tax attributable to owners rose to Rs 29.19 crore from Rs 5.16 crore a year earlier. EBITDA climbed to Rs 54.21 crore from Rs 19.35 crore, even as total consolidated expenses increased to Rs 160.37 crore from Rs 98.66 crore. A separate report from India IPO said the company’s shares had gained more than 26% so far this year, while Moneycontrol put the six-month rise at over 44%, underscoring investor optimism around the business and its expansion plans.
