KFin Technologies launches Arya, a conversational AI platform for seamless mutual fund transactions

KFin Technologies has unveiled Arya, an innovative conversational AI platform designed to enable investors to perform mutual fund transactions within a single dialogue, potentially transforming fund servicing across its network.

KFin Technologies has unveiled ARYA, a conversational AI platform that lets investors move from checking a portfolio to carrying out mutual fund transactions in the same dialogue, a step that could change how fund servicing is delivered across its network. The Hyderabad-based registrar and transfer agent said the system is built to handle natural-language requests while keeping execution within a controlled, auditable process.

The platform is currently live-testing lump-sum purchases and systematic investment plans, with redemptions, fund switches, systematic transfer plans and systematic withdrawal plans set to follow. According to KFin Technologies, ARYA is designed for investors, distributors and asset management company servicing teams, and will be offered through its own investor and distributor portals as well as to AMC clients.

Unlike many consumer-facing AI tools, ARYA does not leave compliance decisions to the language model itself. KFin Technologies said every transaction is checked by deterministic software, with one-time password authentication, PAN masking and automated eligibility checks built into the flow before any request reaches its system of record. The company also said its small language models run on infrastructure it controls in India, which it says helps it meet data-residency requirements under the Digital Personal Data Protection framework.

KFin Technologies said proof-of-concept testing with leading asset managers in July showed about 90 per cent fact accuracy, retrieval latency of 0.7 seconds at the 95th percentile and no hallucinated answers on out-of-scope queries. The platform is due to make its public debut at the Global Fintech Fest in Mumbai on September 10, with a broader rollout planned for October. Shares in KFin Technologies ended Wednesday at ₹929 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.91 per cent, and the stock has fallen about 12 per cent over the past year.
