Tech Mahindra’s futures hint at steady rally despite sector volatility

Shares of Tech Mahindra hover near ₹1,584 amid analysis of short-term futures signals and strong quarterly earnings, signalling cautious optimism in the tech sector despite market uncertainties.

Tech Mahindra shares are drawing close attention from traders after the stock held near ₹1,584, with market participants weighing short-term futures signals against a stronger earnings backdrop. Analysts watching the September derivatives contract are looking at a narrow trading band, with resistance seen around ₹1,625 and a more difficult ceiling near ₹1,689, while support is expected near ₹1,503 and ₹1,422.

In the futures set-up described by market observers, the trade idea hinges on a stop-loss around ₹1,566 and an upside objective of ₹1,618, assuming the contract opens within the expected range. The discussion comes as long positions continue to roll over, a sign that interest remains firm even as traders remain alert to the risk of a sharp move if the stock breaks below key support.

The technical picture is being reinforced by a strong first quarter for fiscal 2026-27. Tech Mahindra reported revenue of ₹15,712 crore, up 17.6% year on year, while net profit rose 28.4% to ₹1,465 crore. Other published result summaries said revenue from operations increased 17.68% year on year to ₹15,711.9 crore, EBITDA climbed 41.72% year on year, and deal wins topped $1.08 billion, extending a run of billion-dollar quarterly bookings.

Sentiment also received a lift from the company’s expanded multi-year partnership with ServiceNow on August 20, aimed at scaling enterprise artificial intelligence offerings. For investors, the combination of improving fundamentals and a constructive futures set-up may look encouraging, but the stock remains vulnerable to broader swings in the information technology sector and in global markets. Futures trading also carries added risk because leverage can magnify both gains and losses quickly.
