A resident of Dehradun has sought legal action against a ₹12 crore investment scam involving online cryptocurrency and forex platforms, with police in Raipur registering a case following court intervention amidst wider investigations linked to similar schemes.
A Dehradun resident has approached a court seeking the registration of a first information report in an alleged ₹12 crore investment fraud that, according to the complaint, may have affected about 160 people in the city. Following the court’s order, police in Raipur have now registered a case.
The complaint, filed by Anoop Singh before the additional civil judge, alleges that the money was raised through a cluster of online platforms, including BotBro, Yorker FX or YFX, Yorker Capital, Bot Alpha, Cross Market, TLC Coin and Mine Cryptos. Singh said the platforms were promoted through social media, WhatsApp groups, websites and in-person meetings, with investors lured by promises of monthly returns of 5% to 6% from cryptocurrency and foreign exchange trading.
According to the complaint, Lavish Chaudhary, also known as Nawab Ali and said to be from Muzaffarnagar, was among those promoting the schemes. Singh alleged that he and others invested substantial sums after being persuaded by the claims, only to discover the operation had begun to unravel when withdrawals were stopped from October and the accused could no longer be traced.
The complaint also says Singh had repeatedly taken the matter to Raipur police on October 24, 2025, and again on March 13 and May 23 this year. He further claimed to have filed a complaint with the senior superintendent of police in Dehradun on March 16, but said no case was registered until the court intervened.
The case adds to a wider trail of allegations around the same set of names and platforms. The Enforcement Directorate has previously frozen dozens of bank accounts in a money-laundering probe tied to QFX Trade Ltd., saying the accused operated investment schemes that promised high returns from forex trading and channelled funds through shell entities. Business Standard reported that investigators identified Lavish Chaudhary as one of the people linked to the network, while Mumbai police have also filed a separate case accusing Chaudhary and associated firms of duping investors through similar forex and crypto promises.
