Sunshine Pictures announces its initial public offering, seeking to raise Rs 282 crore, as it aims to strengthen its position in the content creation industry despite recent financial setbacks.
Sunshine Pictures will open its initial public offering on Tuesday, August 18, and the issue will close on Thursday, August 20, according to Zee Business. The film and television production company is seeking to raise Rs 282.14 crore through a book-built issue that combines a fresh sale of shares with an offer for sale by existing shareholders. Business Standard had earlier reported that the Mumbai-based company planned an offering of up to 8,375,000 equity shares, split between new shares and secondary stock.
The price band has been set at Rs 342 to Rs 360 a share, with a lot size of 41 shares. At the top end of the range, a retail investor would need Rs 14,760 for one lot. The stock is slated to list on both the BSE and NSE, with tentative listing on August 25, while allotment is expected on August 21. GYR Capital Advisors is the lead manager for the issue and Bigshare Services is the registrar, Zee Business reported.
Sunshine Pictures was founded in 2007 and works across films, television serials and web series. Its business spans script development, production, intellectual property creation, rights monetisation and distribution. The company says it has been behind titles including Force, Commando, Holiday, Force 2, Commando 2 and The Kerala Story, positioning itself as a technology-led content producer focused on commercial entertainment.
The company’s recent financial performance has softened. According to figures cited by Zee Business, total income fell to Rs 105.80 crore in FY25 from Rs 139.46 crore a year earlier, while profit after tax declined to Rs 34.46 crore from Rs 53.35 crore. EBITDA also dropped, to Rs 50.76 crore from Rs 73.97 crore. Sunshine Pictures plans to use Rs 112.50 crore of the proceeds for working capital, with the balance earmarked for general corporate purposes.
