Yahoo introduces more prominent and configurable privacy options, allowing users to tailor data use across its services amid increasing demands for transparency and control in digital platforms.
Yahoo is telling users they can choose how their data is used across its services, with options to accept, reject or fine-tune privacy settings. The consent notice says those choices affect the use of cookies, browsing and search data, personalised advertising and content, measurement, audience research and other services development.
According to Yahoo’s privacy pages, users can change settings linked to ad personalisation, cookies and location data, and those controls can be adjusted across devices and browsers. The company also says people can withdraw consent later through its privacy and cookie settings or privacy dashboard.
Yahoo’s help pages say account holders can review the personal information tied to their account, manage marketing preferences, download data and delete account information. Separate privacy dashboard tools also let users customise how information is used across different Yahoo brands and services, reflecting a wider move by digital platforms to make privacy controls more prominent and easier to find.
