Kwality Wall’s India bounces back as summer boosts revenue and market share growth prospects

Kwality Wall’s India reports a strong June quarter recovery, driven by summer demand, lower material costs, and strategic expansion into premium products amid a growing ice-cream market.

Kwality Wall’s India reported a sharp rebound in the June quarter, with revenue from operations rising to ₹878.3 crore and consolidated net profit climbing to ₹50.7 crore, helped by summer demand for ice cream and a lower bill for materials and stock purchases, according to trade publication Trade Brains. The improvement marks a strong turnaround from the previous quarter, when the company had posted a loss. Trade Brains said the company’s shares were trading at ₹39 on 17 August 2026, close to their 52-week high, as investors reacted to the latest numbers.

The quarterly performance reflects how important the summer season remains for ice-cream makers in India. Trade Brains said the country’s ice-cream market was valued at ₹29,900 crore in 2025 and is expected to grow at about 15% a year over the next decade. Branded products make up around 60% to 65% of the market, while the rest is still dominated by local sellers and kulfi vendors, leaving room for organised players such as Kwality Wall’s to expand.

The company also appears to be benefiting from a broader shift towards premium and branded frozen desserts. According to Trade Brains, Kwality Wall’s is aiming to lift the share of premium products, led by Magnum, to 18% to 22% of sales by FY31, up from about 12% to 15% in FY25. It is also trying to serve a wider price range, including products sold between ₹10 and ₹50, to reach more consumers across income groups.

Kwality Wall’s has a long heritage in India, but it only became a separate listed company after the demerger of Hindustan Unilever’s ice-cream business, which took effect on 1 December 2025. The company listed on the BSE and NSE in February 2026 and now sells its products in more than 400 cities through a distribution network of over 200,000 outlets and 15,000 push carts, Trade Brains said.
