Kings Infra Ventures sees export decline impact Q1 profits amid geopolitical trade disruptions

Kings Infra Ventures reported a sharp drop in quarterly profits due to a significant fall in seafood exports, despite domestic sales growth, making investors wary amid ongoing geopolitical tensions.

Kings Infra Ventures has reported a weaker June quarter as a sharp fall in seafood exports dragged down revenue and profit, even as domestic sales improved. According to Trade Brains, the Kochi-based aquaculture and infrastructure company also saw its shares fall about 10% after the results were released on August 16, 2026.

The company’s consolidated revenue from operations slipped 10.76% year on year to ₹30.44 crore, while net profit fell to ₹21.56 crore from ₹34.90 crore a year earlier, Trade Brains said. Basic earnings per share dropped to ₹0.88 from ₹1.45. The company blamed the decline on weaker exports, which it linked to global trade disruption and geopolitical tensions.

That shift in the sales mix was significant. Trade Brains reported that exports accounted for only about 8% of revenue in the quarter, down from 33.2% a year earlier, while domestic sales rose 22.8%. The company said the pressure on exports was temporary and continued to point to investment in farms, processing capacity and new business plans.

The latest quarter comes after a much stronger full year. The Tribune India reported that Kings Infra posted revenue of ₹162.15 crore for the year ended March 31, 2026, up 30.13%, while profit after tax rose 24.41% to ₹16.36 crore. The company also outlined a new five-pillar strategy for FY27. Trade Brains said Kings Infra later changed its top management on August 13, naming Baby John Shaji as chairman and making Binoy J. Kattadiyil vice chairman and strategy adviser, with those board changes awaiting shareholder approval at the annual meeting on September 28, 2026.
