Sky Gold & Diamonds joins MSCI India small-cap index as it demonstrates financial discipline and market potential

Sky Gold & Diamonds Ltd has been added to the MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index, signalling increased investor confidence as the jewellery firm leverages operational improvements and strategic growth initiatives amid rising market visibility.

Sky Gold & Diamonds Ltd has been added to the MSCI India Domestic Small Cap Index after MSCI’s latest review, a move the jewellery maker said reflects its growing standing among India’s listed smaller companies. The inclusion gives the group greater visibility in a benchmark that is designed to track domestically oriented small-cap firms in India. According to MSCI, the domestic small-cap index is intended to measure that segment of the market, while the broader MSCI India Index covers large- and mid-cap shares.

The company said the index inclusion comes as it has turned operating cash-flow positive in the current quarter, which it described as evidence of tighter working-capital management. Sky Gold said it remains focused on balancing expansion with profitability and cash generation, a shift that comes as investors have increasingly rewarded companies that can pair growth with stronger liquidity and discipline.

Managing Director Mangesh Chauhan said in a statement that the MSCI inclusion was “an important recognition of our growth journey over the years – from building scale to building a stronger, more disciplined and institution-ready organisation.” He added that the company’s aim is to build a sustainable business that grows profitably, uses capital efficiently and strengthens the systems needed to operate at a larger scale. Chauhan also said the company is pursuing an initiative it calls “Sky Gold 3.0”, centred on financial discipline, deeper customer ties and a more scalable operating model.

Sky Gold said it is strengthening governance and management processes, including a more structured leadership framework, tighter financial controls and the appointment of a large global accounting firm. The company continues to concentrate on lightweight and value-added jewellery, while broadening its customer base and footprint in organised jewellery retail. Its asset-light manufacturing model, it said, remains central to its plan to expand capacity without sacrificing capital efficiency. Market data cited by StockAnalysis shows the company’s market value has risen sharply over the past year, underlining the scale of investor interest surrounding the stock.
