City Bank has unveiled a major update to its City Touch mobile app, incorporating an AI-powered chatbot, expanded digital services, and a personalised rewards scheme to streamline everyday banking for customers in Bangladesh.
City Bank has rolled out a redesigned version of its City Touch mobile app, adding an artificial intelligence chatbot and a wider set of digital banking tools as it pushes more everyday services onto one platform. The update is aimed at making routine transactions quicker and easier for customers in Bangladesh, where banks are increasingly leaning on automation to expand their digital reach.
According to the company’s announcement, the app now includes a chatbot that can handle queries in Bengali and English. It also allows users to open an account without visiting a branch and gives eligible customers the option to apply for loans through the app. The new version brings account balances, cards, loans and investments into a single dashboard, alongside personal finance tools that help users track income and spending.
The app’s payment and transfer functions have also been widened. City Touch supports transfers through the National Payment Switch Bangladesh, Real Time Gross Settlement and Bangladesh Electronic Fund Transfer Network, in addition to bill payments, mobile top-ups and QR code transactions. Users can also activate cards, change PINs and adjust transaction limits inside the app. Listings on Google Play and Apple’s App Store confirm the service is available on Android and iPhone.
City Bank has also added a rewards scheme called MyRewards, which gives points on eligible transactions, while users can now request banking services and monitor their progress in the app. The bank says the redesigned interface is meant to make navigation simpler and service delivery more customer-focused, reflecting a wider shift in banking towards AI-enabled digital platforms.
