OTP Bank customers will experience two brief but separate outages in late August due to scheduled digital upgrades, affecting card payments and the Persely savings feature after a recent technical disruption.
OTP Bank customers face two brief but separate service interruptions later this month as the lender carries out digital upgrades, with card payments and one savings feature set to go offline at different times in late August.
According to the bank’s notice on its website, the card payment system will be unavailable from 1am on 25 August for about an hour and a half. During that window, card transactions will not work on payment terminals or online, and OTP-branded cards will not be usable for purchases or cash withdrawals. The bank also said its Persely service will be suspended for the whole day on 30 August, from midnight until 11:59pm, because of development work.
The planned downtime comes after a technical disruption at OTP on 8 July, when customers reported problems with card payments, online banking and two-factor authentication before services were restored later that morning, according to local reporting. That earlier incident, while separate from the planned maintenance, underlines how reliant customers are on uninterrupted access to the bank’s payment systems.
