Cdsl Investor Protection Fund launches multilingual animated film to boost financial literacy across India

The CDSL Investor Protection Fund has released ‘The Garden of Prosperity’, a new animated film in 12 languages, aimed at simplifying investment concepts for Indian investors and encouraging responsible financial planning nationwide.

CDSL Investor Protection Fund has expanded its investor education push with a new multilingual animated film created with Amar Chitra Katha, aiming to make basic investing principles easier to understand for a wider audience in India. According to the announcement published in Mumbai on 13 August 2026, the project is designed to encourage more thoughtful financial planning and help people approach the securities market with greater confidence.

The film, called “The Garden of Prosperity”, uses Akbar and Birbal to show a newly married couple how to invest wedding gifts sensibly. Through the story, it introduces goal-based investing, diversification, matching investments to different time horizons and the need for an emergency fund. The film is available in 12 languages, including English, Hindi and 10 regional languages, so CDSL IPF says it can reach investors across both urban and rural areas.

The new film builds on an earlier collaboration between CDSL IPF and Amar Chitra Katha. In February 2026, the two organisations launched an investor-awareness comic series at CDSL’s third annual symposium, “Reimagine: Securities Market through Data Synergy”. That series, also released in 12 languages, was intended to simplify financial concepts through familiar storytelling, with SEBI chairman Tuhin Kanta Pandey stressing the importance of investor awareness in building inclusive and transparent markets, according to reports on the event.

Shri Sudhish Pillai, head of the CDSL IPF Secretariat, said the group believes financial education works best when complex ideas are presented through simple, relatable stories. He said the aim is to encourage investors to adopt goal-based investing, prepare for the future and take part in the market in a responsible way. CDSL IPF said its wider awareness programme remains a core part of its work, and that in fiscal 2025-26 it conducted more than 3,600 investor awareness programmes across 35 states and union territories, reaching over 200,000 participants.
