Sudarshan Chemical signals robust volume recovery amid sector growth concerns in FY27 Q1

Sudarshan Chemical Industries highlights an 8-10% volume growth in its legacy business during FY27’s first quarter, as analysts monitor the company’s demand recovery and sector stability amid a modest 3-4% pigment market expansion.

Sudarshan Chemical Industries began its first-quarter FY27 earnings call on Thursday with management and analysts joining a live discussion of the company’s latest performance, according to the transcript posted by GuruFocus. The call was opened by Ranjit Cirumalla of IIFL Capital, who said the session was being hosted with the company’s management team to review earnings performance.

The exchange also underlined how Sudarshan uses its investor-relations channels to keep a record of analyst calls and recorded discussions. The company’s investor pages include transcripts from recent quarter and year-end meetings, as well as recordings of its analyst sessions, giving investors a public archive of management commentary and strategic updates.

An analysis published by Arthneeti said the wider pigment market has grown at roughly 3% to 4% annually over the past two to three years, broadly in line with GDP expansion. It added that Sudarshan expects 8% to 10% volume growth in its legacy business in FY27, with the company seeing a stronger, volume-led recovery in the final quarter as customers returned to buying after a period of destocking.

LiveMint also carried an overview of the company’s first-quarter results, pointing to operating profit, profit after tax, total income and operating margin as the main figures under review. Together, the reports suggest investors are watching not only the company’s near-term earnings trend but also the durability of demand recovery in a sector that tends to move with broader industrial activity.
