Indian stocks see expanded daily price bands amid mixed earnings signals

Seven Indian stocks have been granted wider daily trading limits, allowing for increased intra-day price fluctuations. While offering more room for market activity, the move coincides with diverse earnings reports, highlighting ongoing market dynamics and regulatory adjustments.

Seven Indian stocks have had their daily price bands widened from 5% to 20%, a move that gives the market more room to absorb buying and selling pressure while still keeping a cap on sharp intraday swings. Trade Brains said the changes apply to Inox Green Energy Services, Vishnu Prakash R Punglia, Indowind Energy, Xtranet Technologies, Metalic Technoforge, VMS TMT and Vascon Engineers, with the adjustments made between 10 and 14 August.

Price bands, also known as circuit limits, are set by stock exchanges to keep trading orderly when volatility picks up. When a stock is moved from a 5% band to a 20% band, it can rise or fall by a larger amount in a single session, which can help price discovery in fast-moving shares but also signals that exchanges are monitoring trading more closely.

Among the names on the list, Inox Green Energy has drawn particular attention after reporting stronger annual results for the year ended 31 March 2025. According to Saur Energy, revenue from operations rose 5.03% year on year to ₹23,555 crore, while net profit jumped more than 234% to ₹3,851 lakh. EBITDA climbed 33.39% to ₹12,441 lakh, with the margin improving to 60.76%.

Vishnu Prakash R Punglia has shown more mixed trading and operating signals. Business Standard reported that the company’s standalone net profit fell 84.62% in the September 2025 quarter, while sales declined 11.70% and operating profit margin weakened. Yet MarketsMojo said the stock later hit its upper circuit on 15 June 2026 on strong buying interest, with turnover of ₹1.72 crore and unfilled buy orders pointing to demand outstripping supply.
