AXA Mandiri urges families to future-proof against climate change, cyber threats and geopolitical risks

AXA Mandiri calls on parents to prepare children for an uncertain future dominated by interconnected risks such as climate change, cyber threats, political tensions and artificial intelligence, highlighting the importance of financial protection in safeguarding household stability.

AXA Mandiri is urging parents to think beyond day-to-day protection and prepare children for a future shaped by climate change, cyber threats, political tension and the rapid advance of artificial intelligence. The company says the wider risk environment has become more intertwined, making financial resilience increasingly important for families trying to plan ahead.

According to AXA’s 2025 Future Risks Report, produced with Ipsos, the annual study drew on responses from 23,000 citizens and 3,595 risk experts across 57 countries. The report identifies climate change, geopolitical instability, cyber security, AI and big data, social tensions, pressure on natural resources and biodiversity, macroeconomic risk, energy risk, financial stability and demographic change as the 10 issues most likely to shape the next 5 to 10 years. Ipsos said 93% of citizens and 95% of experts believe crises are becoming more frequent.

In the Indonesian context, the report shows financial stability ranking ninth overall, but it is the highest-ranked risk cited by respondents in Indonesia. That reflects concern that prolonged geopolitical strain and widening social and economic gaps could undermine the financial system and, by extension, household security. AXA Mandiri chief marketing, product and transformation officer Theodores Tangke said parents should make sure the next generation has more than education and values, adding that financial protection can help families stay resilient when risks hit.

AXA Mandiri says its insurance products are designed to match a changing risk landscape, with options that include premium refunds, long protection periods and more affordable premiums. The company argues that protection is not only about dealing with present uncertainty, but also about giving families a stronger base from which to fund long-term goals, including children’s education and wider welfare. AXA says the full report is available on its website, while AXA Mandiri directs customers to its Life Planners, financial advisers, Bank Mandiri branches and customer service line for more information.
