Centricity secures Rs 280 crore in Series A to deepen tech and expand global private wealth services

Centricity, a tech-driven wealth management firm, raises Rs 280 crore in a Series A funding round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund to accelerate its technological development and expand its reach in India and overseas markets.

Centricity, a technology-led wealth management firm founded in 2022, has raised Rs 280 crore in a Series A round led by SMBC Asia Rising Fund, as the company looks to deepen its technology stack and expand its distribution and private client businesses. Existing backers including Lightspeed India Partners, Burman Family Office, RAAY Investments, Kuldeep Rathi Family Office, Stride Venture and Innoven Capital also took part in the financing, according to the company.

The fresh capital is set to support work on Centricity’s proprietary systems, its partner-driven B2B2C platform and its private wealth and NRI global private client operations, while also helping it widen its reach in India and overseas. SMBC says its Asia Rising Fund invests in innovative companies across the region, particularly in fintech and technology, with an emphasis on businesses that can benefit from strategic as well as financial support.

Centricity was established by veteran private bankers and now operates through several lines of business, including One Digital, Invictus Private Wealth and its NRI Global Private Client offering. The company says its model is built around advisors and distributors rather than proprietary product sales, positioning itself as an open-architecture platform in a sector that has often relied on in-house product push.

Manu Awasthy, Centricity’s founder and chief executive, said the investment is “a defining endorsement” of the company’s vision and execution, adding that the backing from SMBC’s venture arm follows earlier support from Lightspeed. Centricity says it now oversees more than Rs 15,000 crore in assets under management, works with more than 20,000 partners, serves over one lakh investors and has a workforce of more than 800 people. It claims nearly 200% growth in the past year and says it is on track to cross Rs 150 crore in revenue in FY27.
